1. When and where will the wedding take place?

The wedding will take place on 5 September 2026, beginning at 2.30 PM with a Catholic ceremony at Chiesa della Madonna di Galliera e di San Filippo Neri, Bologna, followed by the reception at Villa Certani Vittori Venenti, Budrio.

2. What is the dress code?

Formal Attire: Suits (tie optional) and cocktail dresses/ long dress or dressy separates are most welcome. Feel free to add a touch of colour and personality to celebrate with us.

3. What will the weather be like?

Early September in Bologna is usually warm and pleasant, with average temperatures between 20–28°C (68–82°F).

We recommend light fabrics and comfortable shoes for the evening.

4. How do I get to Bologna?

Bologna is extremely well connected and easy to reach from anywhere in Europe or abroad.

- By Plane:

The Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) offers daily direct flights to most major European hubs — including Frankfurt, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Madrid and Brussels.

For overseas guests, Emirates operates a direct daily flight between Dubai and Bologna, with convenient connections from Asia, Australia and beyond.

- By Train:

Bologna Centrale is one of Italy’s main railway hubs, served by high-speed trains from all major Italian cities:

From Milan: ~1 hour

From Florence: ~40 minutes

From Rome: ~3 hours

From Venice: ~1 hour 30 minutes

Italy is served by two main railway operators, Italo and Trenitalia. Guests are advised to consult both websites, as schedules and fares may differ.

5. Where should I stay?

Bologna offers a charming selection of hotels and apartments in the city centre and surrounding hills (see Accommodations section).

The city enforces a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) and not all accommodations provide private parking. Guests should confirm with their hotel or Airbnb about exemptions, on-site, or partner parking, which may be a 5–10 minute walk.

For guaranteed parking and a quieter setting, accommodations outside the city centre are recommended (please refer to the Accommodations section).

6. Will transportation be provided?

Yes. Due to the narrow street in of the church, a shuttle service will be available from Piazza S. Francesco (less than 10 mins way) to the villa immediately following the mass. Return transfers from the villa to Piazza S. Francesco will depart at midnight and 2:00 a.m. No individual stops will be made.

7. Taxis & Ride Services

Taxis are available in Bologna but advance booking is strongly recommended, especially at night or on weekends, as on-demand cars may be unavailable. Fares are generally higher than in other countries and can increase based on time, distance or luggage.

9. Is Uber available in Italy?

Yes, Uber is available in Italy. However, unlike in many other countries, the standard UberX service is not offered. Instead, only premium services such as Uber Black, Uber Lux, Uber Van, and local taxis booked through the Uber app are available.

10. Car Rental

For guests who prefer to drive, rental cars are available directly at Bologna Airport and in the city centre.

Please note that usually only credit cards (not debit cards) are accepted for car rentals in Italy.

11. Renting a car in one city and returning it in another

It is possible to rent a car in one Italian city and return it in another (a “one-way rental”). This option is widely available between major cities such as Bologna, Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice. An additional fee usually applies, and higher charges may apply for islands such as Sicily or Sardinia. We recommend booking in advance, particularly during the summer season.

12. Where can I park in Bologna?

A list of paid parking options in Bologna’s city centre can be found in the Parking Lots & Garages section. As the historic centre is a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone), guests staying in the city centre are encouraged to use such facilities to ensure authorized access.

Guests are also advised to check directly with their accommodation, as some properties provide ZTL exemptions, on-site parking or partner parking facilities, which may be located a 5–10 minute walk away.
